Big League, Big Book.

Did 100% of the layout and primary editing of this 484-page regular season media guide for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. (I produced all team media guides for the team 2003-2005.) Click image for complete PDF.

The Big Brand Era.

I was the first dealership-level employee in the “Americas” (North, Central and South America) to achieve Caterpillar’s “Certified Brand Advocate” – the highest level of brand training for the Fortune 100 organization. (With 2017’s highest exam score.)

Simply Support Sales.

Created sales sheets for a manufacturing unit that creates fuel tanks and generator enclosures. This project involved coordinating with engineering, sales and manufacturing to ensure specs and claims were all completely accurate. Although highly technical, sales sheets like this simplify sales presentations.

Solutions that Stay in Brand.

Designed a custom, branded “tip cup” using custom Tervis mug that solved several challenges and increased staff income.

The Key is Consistency.

Identity is a big part of branding. And having your identity used correctly (and consistently) is key. I have created logo usage guides and file format references for many clients to help them protect their brand. (Click image to view a sample PDF.)

Moving Message.

No project too large (or small)! This custom wrapped 53-foot trailer serves as the “mobile toolbox” for the team that services draglines and other surface mining equipment.

Who, What, When, Where, Why and How.

From 2013-19, I was contracted to write the game recap and Most Outstanding Player press releases for the East West Shrine Bowl. (2019 game recap release linked.)

Pocket Full of Info.

Among the smallest pieces I was responsible for, the Rays annual “pocket schedule” regularly printed more than 1.4 million pieces with more than a dozen permutations and included information on 183 games (including opponent, start time, location, pricing information and broadcast information for each game) as well as season’s promotional schedule and stadium map and seating chart on one sheet of paper, divided into 16 panels – with the finished product folded to the size of a credit card. (Click to view entire piece.)

Serving Up Chefs.

One of my favorite clients! Helped a restaurant group pivot during the “Great Recession” and an oil spill on local beaches. Leveraged the trend of chefs as celebrities. Utilizing this across social media, print, email marketing and tailoring the menu to add prix fix and dynamic “small plate” offerings, these properties survived and continue to serve inspired meals!

Tell a Story Without Words.

In addition to editorial content and layout, I enjoy photography – and that allows for opportunities to get custom art that enhances the message. This image was used in recruitment efforts, leaning heavily on the power of the Caterpillar brand and marks.
